Site 2: War Memorial Park

The reason why we chose to tell you about the war memorial park is because we want the future generation to learn about Japanese occuption. In the war memorial park, there are four pillars there, each pillar represents the four major languages- english, chinese, malay and tamil, because they lived together in racial harmony. The memorial is to comemorate the death of the war prisoners. . A black jar is kept in between the four pillars and inside it contains the ashes of those war priosoners who died during world war II.
